Why Firefox users look more closely at privacy

Which data the add-on needs
For the comparison one single piece of information suffices: the ASIN, the Amazon Standard Identification Number of the product. The add-on reads it from the URL of the open Amazon page and uses it to query current prices.
Everything else is simply irrelevant to this operation. Name, delivery address and payment information are neither captured, nor temporarily stored, nor sent to external servers. The operation stays anonymous and is limited to product data.
Comparison right in the browser, without tab chaos

- Oversized items and freight carriers: ordinary parcels often travel on cheap flat rates; for heavy products and large appliances shipping costs swing considerably.
- Marketplace sellers: when not Amazon itself but a third party sells, international dispatch frequently follows its own conditions.
The displayed price is thus a reliable benchmark and a good basis for deciding. Binding becomes the amount only at checkout of the respective Amazon country.
Difference from classic comparison portals
Comparison sites aimed at UK users mostly cover the domestic market and list various local online shops. They are not built for price differences within the European Amazon network.

Do I need a separate account for every Amazon country?
No. On almost all European marketplaces — France, Italy or Spain, for example — you sign in with your usual credentials. On amazon.com or EU stores, re-entering payment details may occasionally be needed since Brexit. Your Prime subscription normally applies only in the home country anyway; free delivery falls away on foreign orders.
Which data does the EuroSaver Firefox add-on store?
None personal. Neither IP addresses nor search histories, names or email addresses are captured or transmitted. Only the ASIN of the page you are actively visiting is read, to retrieve prices from the other EU countries.
Why does the price change in the last order step?
Because of taxes. The add-on shows each marketplace's price including its local tax. On delivery into the UK no EU adjustment appears; instead import VAT and courier fees land afterwards.
